Sustainable Development Goals

Since ecology is concerned with the relationship of human and its environment, our design objective is to achieve our main Sustainable Development Goals such as Good Health and Well-being, Life on land and Life under water.

1. To ensure Good Health and to promote Mental Health by providing Nature Village that has access to villas, spa, yoga, and grill house. 2. To protect, restore and promote sustainable terrestrial resources by planting bamboos. According to Central Mindanao University this plant can cut soil losses, decrease water discharge, and lower sediment yield. These factors can help minimize soil erosion and landslides. 3. To conserve and sustainably use of ocean, seas, and marine resources by incorporating aqua phonics to the design. According to news from sunstar, 4. Public market in Barangay Andagao had been mostly razed by fire in September 2019 and the affected vendors were only given makeshift stalls. Now, the last objective of the design is to somehow provide a place for the vendors to continue their means of earning money.

BAHURA or REEF is an Eco-tourism development project that nestles along the sandy coastal area of Pook, Kalibo Aklan. Bahura is a shoal stone under the sea that contributes ecosystem to different aquatic beings. Like the project itself, it stands to dedicate its own being providing peace, wellness, enjoyment, accommodation, and any activities under the sun embraced by the beauty of water formation like pond, river, and sea. The project expanded the feature of the design by incorporating floating market, aquaculture, and agriculture activities to promote the Sustainable Development Goals such as Life on land and Life below water. These key features will promote not only sustainability but also a new narrative of experience with nature at its best form.

AQUAPONIC FARM EXPLODED AXONOMETRIC

Photovoltaic Glass - Collecting natural source of energy while letting ample amount of sunlight in for the system. Roof Framing - Serves as a support membrane for the glass

Wooden Panel Wall - A see-through partition that also uses the gaps as air cooling/ ventilation medium. Parametric Panel Wall - it is a seethrough wall designed for creeper plants to crawl over the surface of the aquaponic farm. Grass Bed - Grass beds are essential for spaces like aquaponic farm that has an objective of a controlled environment.

Three Branches of Aquaponic Farm Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) - Systems work by flowing nutrient-rich water through a narrow trough, such as a PVC pipe. Deep Water Culture (DWC) - Raft based growing uses a foam raft that is floating in a channel filled with fish effluent water that has been filtered to remove solid wastes. Vertical Aquaponics (VA) - Plants are stacked on top of each other in tower system 25
