Stockholm, Sweden

The Frequency is a Swedish night club that plays off the elements of sound waves. Many organic shapes and lines are brought into the space including the lighting features over the bars, dance floor and lounge areas. Construction Documents tell the story of a space, from the floor plan to the detailed sections, all of these pages need to be thorough and well organized.

Tensegrity Table

This table is built with tensegrity. A system of isolated, compressed components within a network of chords that are under continuous tension. The middle structure of the table is under tension while the chain "legs" are under compression. The table materials are dark oak wood, stainless steel chain, I bolts and screws. Multiple oak planks were biscuit jointed and glued together in order to get the top and bottom pieces. The two middle organic structures were cut on a bandsaw and sanded on a drum sander. Once all the wooden elements were created, I then had screw in the middle structured with the chain piece in the middle to create that tension, while it was under tension I was allowed to loose or tighten the chain legs as necessary.
