The Raven Edgar Allan Poe Children’s Adaptation By: Nico Puttre, Mack Macey and Alejandro Brillembourg

This book is dedicated to the lower school kids so they can understand the grown up poem that parents love. They get to understand it because we put hard work into turning a dark and deep poem suitable for younger kids.

In one dark midnight, while I thought weak and tired, over many weird and old things, there came a knocking at my door, just a knock, not much more. It was a creepy December, and each spark turned into a ghost. I was waiting for tomorrow, because I thought good of it. I was trying to end the sadness with books. The sadness from my lost Lenore. No names around me forever.

The sad rustling of my curtain filled me with good terrors that had never filled me before. Now, I stood, my heart beating, and I just kept repeating. “Someone at my door, nothing more.” That was it and nothing more. Currently my soul grew better; thinking less before each move. “Sir,” I said, “Or Miss I ask for your forgiveness. But I was sleeping, and you came knocking at my door. I was sure you were there, so I opened the door.

“DARKNESS THERE AND NOTHING MORE”

Looking into the darkness for a while, I stood scared. Dreaming of things no one has dreamt of before. The quietness remained quietness, and the stillness did that too. The only word to be heard was… “Lenore!” I whispered that word and an echo said to me… “Lenore!” That was it and nothing more.

I walked back into my room. I was burning inside, then I heard another knocking, louder than the one before. “Surely the knocking is coming from my window.” I said. “I will go check to see what it is.”

“‘TIS THE WIND AND NOTHING MORE”

I opened the window and in came The Raven. He didn’t show any respect, he did not stay long. He looked like a king or queen, he sat on a statue above my door. Just sitting there, nothing more. He turned my sadness into a smile. I could tell by it’s face it was very serious. He was uninviting and was walking from the night. Tell me what is happening on the Nightly shore

Quoth The Raven “Nevermore”

I was astonished to hear something so plain it 's answer has little meaning That we cannot agree that no person I was blessed with seeing a bird above my door With his name"Nevermore"

But the Raven just sat on the statue, and he only said that word. He didn’t say anything else, and he didn’t move anymore. Then I said: “I have other friends, I hope you leave me alone.” Then the bird said: NEVERMORE

Scared at the stillness, I replied “Doubtful.” The raven only says one word that he utters. Caught from some unhappy master which was a disaster. It took a long time before the Raven said one word.

“Nevermore”

But the raven still enchanting my sad fancy into smiling I brought a cushioned chair in front of the bird I was thinking what this bad bird of yore Meant in croaking "nevermore"

Then I sat trying to guess something about that Raven. Then I sat and felt good, on a cushion that was velvet. That velvet turned violet because of the lamplight. She shall press, ah, nevermore!

Then the air turned thicker from a perfume, but I couldn’t see from where it came. I thought it came from an angel. “The god has sent angels to me!” Then the memories of Lenore came back to me. I will forget this lost Lenore! Quoth the Raven “Nevermore!”

“Think of evil are you a bird or a devil.” What has sent you here. How awful are you. This house must be haunted, tell me please are you from Gilead. Tell me I begged.

Quoth the Raven “Nevermore”

Prophet thing of evil prophet still bird or devil Because of heaven and god we both believe The gods brought me an angel named lenore Quoth the raven "Nevermore"

“May that be our separating bird or devil.” I shouted. “Get back into the storm and that hell of yours! Take all of your feathers. Leave nothing behind! Leave me alone! Leave the statue that you are on! Take your beak away from my heart!” Quoth the Raven “Nevermore!”

And the raven is still sitting above my chamber door And his eyes are filled with demons My soul will be lifted - Nevermore
