Katie Couric Colonoscopy

Katie Couric was born on January 7, 1957, in Arlington, Virginia. Her first job was as a desk assistant at ABC. She went on to report for NBC, eventually becoming coanchor of Today. Her popularity continued to increase, and she became a contributing anchor for Dateline. In 2006, she left Today to become the first solo female anchor of CBS Evening News. In 2012, Couric became the host of a new talk show on ABC, Worldly know T.V broadcaster Katie Couric has been aggressively spreading awareness of the colon cancer and the importance of a colonoscopy. After the death of Katie’s husband Jay Monahan, 42, Katie began a campaign to raise money for research and tests concerning colon cancer. By the end of 2000 Couric’s campaign had raised over $10 million. In efforts to gain awareness and show the importance of being tested, Couric shot a public screening of her very on colonoscopy. "The good that Katie did for the cause of colorectal cancer prevention is enormous," Kreines of the Ohio Gastroenterology and Liver Institute says. "Katie jump-started what has become almost a fad of acceptance for people to have their colonoscopies. Many lives have been saved by people inspired by Katie's live demonstration that a colonoscopy is not uncomfortable or embarrassing."
