In addition, Linda has been named general manager of the Buffalo Beauts, one of the founding four teams in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL). She was recently joined by Nichols alumnae Amanda Todd ’05, Emily Pfalzer ’11, Annarie Cellino ’05, and Brigitte Cellino ’08 at Buffalo’s HarborCenter for the Beauts’ training camp. Soron was promoted to major in the U.S. Army. He is currently pursuing an LL.M. in military law at the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, Va. Nichols alumni and friends are leading a major community initiative to nominate the Elmwood Historic District East in Buffalo for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Wyatt Arthurs chairs a community council that is leading the way, along with Buffalo Common Council Members Michael LoCurto, David Rivera, and Darius Pridgen,

Assembly Member Sean Ryan, State Senator Marc Panepinto and the Landmark Society of Western New York. Council members include Chuck Kreiner ’63, Chris Vogelsang ’73 and Susie Lenahan, wife of the late beloved Nichols teacher, Kim Kimberly ’47. Clint Brown ’71 and his architecture firm are preparing the massive nomination. The National Register listing will bring the benefits of historic preservation to approximately 1,800 properties. Elmwood East and its companion Elmwood West will make one of the largest historic districts in New York State. Sean Devlin and wife Betsy welcomed their first child, Winifred Watt Devlin, October 29, 2014. Sean writes, “Betsy and Winnie are healthy and doing great. I had a fun time catching up with Emily Constantine Doren ’00 at Colgate University’s reunion last June.” Sarah Ward Kirke recently moved from Chicago, Ill., where she had been living and working for the past 10 years, back to Buffalo with her husband, Ryan, and daughter, Charlotte. She is the HR director at U.S. Energy Development Corp., an independent oil and gas firm headquartered in Getzville. Sarah, Ryan, and Charlotte reside in Orchard Park and are extremely happy to be back with family and friends! Jared Kozinn ’00 recently joined the Detroit Lions as director of business development and premium seating. Jared and his wife, Margo, reside in West Bloomfield, Mich., with their daughter, Shayna (4 years old), and son, Dane (9 months).

Catie Plumb Day and husband Thomas recently welcomed their second child, Eleanor Elizabeth Day, in August 2014. Since returning from maternity leave, Catie has become the store manager of a Starbucks in the Carmel, Ind., area.

Tara DeCarlo graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson School of Nursing in May 2014 and moved to Washington D.C., where she works as a labor and delivery nurse at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Jeremy Witt married Melissa Novack May 31, 2014. Alumni in attendance included Jonna Wopperer, Ashley Lotempio, Tara DeCarlo, Star Davis, Karr Marlette, Mike Laberta, William Henneberry, Duke Pharr ’03, Kristen Rhodes ’84, Seymour Knox IV ’73, Seymour Knox V ’08 and Jack Knox ’11. Jeremy and Melissa welcomed their son, Harrison “Harry” on April 16.
