REFLEXOLOGY

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Reflexology is sometimes called foot massage and involves applying pressure to certain points on the foot or hand that correspond to specific organs and systems in the body.

Hot Stone Massage is good for people who prefer a lighter massage pressure. Heated, smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centers in the body. The hot stones can also be used as a massage tool by the therapist.

ROLFING (STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION) Rolfing manipulates fascia and muscles to help you stand straighter and move better. The pressure is often deep and usually takes 10 sessions to produce results.

CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY Cranial Sacral Therapy uses a very light touch (about the weight of a nickel) to assess, balance and release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.

"Through the healing power of massage, clients obtain relief from numerous physical ailments such as chronic neck and low back pain, headaches, arthritis, carpal tunnel and plantar fasciitis. The calming effects on the nervous system help with sleep related issues, high stress levels, anxiety and fatigue." Christina Sczepkowski Director of massage therapy at Valhalla Health & Fitness Club

SHIATSU Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork that uses localized finger pressure held for 2 to 8 seconds in a rhythmic sequence on acupuncture meridians to improve the flow of energy, calm an overactive sympathetic nervous system and help the body regain balance.

"Massage therapy helps clients out of pain caused by structural imbalances and overuse injuries with painfree treatment." Sandy Wagner Sensory Concepts

NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY Neuromuscular Therapy is a method of assessing, treating and preventing soft tissue injuries and chronic pain with treatments that utilize specific massage therapy, flexibility stretching, trigger point release and home care to eliminate the causes of most pain patterns, balancing the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

"Having been a practicing massage therapist in the Berks County area since 1997, I have seen people receive remarkable results utilizing massage therapies. The vast array of modalities available allows one to really personalize sessions to achieve the desired results. You can definitely enhance your quality of life by including massage therapy in your regimine. Consult with a local therapist to see how this can be beneficial for you." DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE Deep Tissue Massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue with slower strokes across or with the grain of the muscle fibers to treat chronically tight muscles from postural problems, repetitive strain and injury recovery. Consider massage a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan. Budgeting your time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health. Fitness Berks
