Swimming News... Presentation Evening

This year’s presentation evening was attended by approximately 250 swimmers and their relatives and friends at Arnold Working Mens Club on Friday 7th December 2012. A big thank you to Ian Tomlin, Teresa Kelly and David Fortescue for all the preparation which included several rehearsals to ensure the evening went without any glitches. This was the first year each swimmer who competed in the Club Championships was presented with their awards and all their achievements were displayed on the big screens to everyone present. Well done to all the swimmers for their achievements and to Teresa Kelly who was voted Volunteer of the year and Dave Palmer who was voted Coach of the year. Trophies were presented to swimmers by Bill Hopkins, President of Nottinghamshire ASA and Dave Palmer, Head Coach Performance Squad. The Club would like to extend its considerable thanks to Arnold Working Mens Club, in particular Sylvia, Paul and all the bar staff for making the evening so memorable.

President Nottinghamshire ASA - Bill Hopkins Further to the Nottinghamshire ASA Annual General Meeting held at the Arnold Civic Centre in November 2012, we are delighted and very proud to announce that Bill Hopkins was elected President of Nottinghamshire ASA. Bill has been coaching swimmers at the Club for almost 20 years and is still coaching swimmers most nights of the week. This is a fantastic achievement for Bill and richly deserved. Pictured above is Bill (wearing his chain of office) with the out-going President of Nottinghamshire ASA, Bernie Walker.
