The Councillor’s Division Fund aims to benefit organisations, groups or individuals which are active in their community for one-off causes and the councillor decides which schemes in their ward should get a contribution. Recent grants include £250 for a Christmas party for local residents at a community centre, £1,000 to replace a charity shop’s glass frontage and £500 for an allotment group to develop a wild flower area. Councillor Reg Adair, Cabinet Member for Finance and Property at the County Council, said: "County Councillors are active in finding good causes in their ward for a share of their Division Fund money. However, we would encourage you to get in contact with your local councillor if you or your community group is struggling to find the money for a worthwhile one-off project or activity.” County Councillors are only able to use their fund for causes within their ward. People wishing to put forward a request for a Councillors Division Fund grant should contact their local County Councillor whose contact details are available by visiting the Council’s website at www.nottinghamshire. gov.uk or by telephoning the authority on 08449 80 80 80.
