The Archery Hall of Fame Museum, A Work In Progress

We are proud to report some fantastic progress regarding the home of the Archery Hall of Fame and Museum.

A dedicated location clubbed the "preview area" has recently been completedjust inside the main front entrance of Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Missouri, the permanent home of the Archery Hall of Fame&: Museum. This "preview area" has the beautiful mural which is shown in the photo. The large (approximately 8 ft. x 12 ft.) original canvas painting by Adam Wolken, depicts lshi, Dr. Sa,\'.ton Pope, Art Young, Howard Hill, and Fred Bear wirh a lme of familiar 4-color targets in the background. This eye-catching mural further represents the Hall by having Olympic medals adorning the corners of the title banner which reads"Heroes and Legends."

Completing this sneak peak preview area is a larae 3-dimensional AHOF logo and walnut exhibit cases which give a snap shot of what is to come when the actual AHOF &: Museum is complete within the next year.

A 1957 graduate of Indiana University, Dick has been a major driving force in archery since 1966, when he first began advertising and promotional work for Fred Bear and Bear Archery. He spent over 23 years heading up Bear's in-house advertising and public relations. From the day he was introduced to archery, he has given 110% of his efforts to the industry and the sport.

Dick has always been interested in the U. 5. Space Program and has authored several books about it, including A/I IV� Did Was Fly to th� Moo11 and Space Station Friends/rip. These are two of his books that are sold at space centers and museums around the countrv. He is a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society, Dickwithastronaut, !imLovell,Apollo 13 London, England.
