Cub Scouts get air!

1st Woodend Burke Cub Scout pack experienced some very exciting times over the past few weeks in and around Woodend and beyond. Our community and the outdoors were a strong focus for our activities. We headed off to Noonameena Scout Camp to participate in Jamboree of the Air; this was an awesome activity where we had the opportunity to talk to other Cub Scouts from around the world as well as Australia. Also on this day Cubs made a homopolar motor which is a direct current electric motor with two magnetic poles that makes a wire twist and move around a battery. Every child was supported in their learning as an individual to achieve at their level of understanding.

Flying High In November we will be flying high at the Kyneton Aerodrome with an activity day run by the Scouts Victoria Air Activities Unit. Every Cub Scout in attendance will be offered a flight in a light aircraft on the day. Currently we have some vacancies for girls and boys 7 ½ upwards, and if you wish to share in the fun and adventure with your child, we have a leader vacancy as well. I encourage you to give me a call as you are most welcome to attend for the remainder of 2015 or register your interest for 2016. Please give me a call (0419 001 493) or we sincerely invite you to our Try Scouting afternoon on Sunday 13th December 2-6pm at our Scout Hall in Forest Street.
