Talent Aplenty On Display At Liberty Middle School Winter Concert! The students in Liberty Middle School’s chorus, band and orchestra jhave been enjoying a well-deserved holiday break after performing a great winter concert last month. On December 5, Mr. Corey J. Poole, Liberty’s director of choral studies, had the opportunity to showcase his students’ hard work to an appreciatove audience of parents and staff members during Liberty’s 2011 Winter Concert. "We have such talented students here at Liberty, and in our choral program,” says Poole. “It is a wonderful opportunity to work with these students by providing them with challenging music — which they performed wonderfully!” The program included several styles of music in the form of group numbers, duets and solo performances. Students performed beloved holiday classics such as “Silent Night” as well as “Light the Candles.” They also performed contemporary songs such

as “All I Want for Christmas is You” and “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth,” which elicited many chuckles from the audience. Liberty principal James Ammirati is a regular in the audience for the school’s chorus concerts and he was in attendance for this particular show. “I always enjoy attending these very special winter programs that the Liberty chorus, band and orchestra students put on during this time of the year,” says Ammirati. The next time the group will play together is for an end-of-the-schoolyear concert in May. “I love working with the choral students at Liberty,” says Poole. “They are the particular reason why I became a teacher... to see them take on challenges and provide such dedication to a program, provides ample opportunity for me to propel their musical abilities far beyond the classroom walls.” — Subsmitted to the Neighborhood News
