Outdoor Activities Here’s a checklist to get you started on things to do outdoors – for more ideas, visit RedWing.org or any of our social media sites.

Spring

¨ Take Your Boat Out

¨ Walk the Loops

¨ Hike New Heights

¨ Get Back on Your Bike

Get your boat back in the water with a slip at Ole Miss Marina, Red Wing Marina, or Harbor Bar. See the budding trees and a spectacular river view from the top of Barn Bluff.

¨ Catch Your Limit

Count on Eagles Cliff Guide Service or Hahn’s Fishing Guide Service to help you reel in the “big one,” or DIY at Upper Harbor, west of Bay Point Park.

¨ Breathe in the New Blooms

Let your feet take you on a tour of the city’s fantastic flowers, or hit the walking trails to check out the wildflowers.

¨ Hit a Home Run

While playing baseball (or softball!) at A. P. Anderson or the Athletic Fields.

Outdoor Activities

¨ River Gaze

Enjoy the view from Levee Park as you watch barges and tugboats cross the Mississippi.

¨ Grill Out

On-site grills are available at several city parks, and you can find fresh grilling goodies at Buchanan Grocery and Kiki’s Simple Abundance.

Purchase your wheel pass and hit the Cannon Valley Trail for some bicycle therapy. Make sure everything’s in tune at one of the repair stations along the route.

¨ Paddle the River

Hop in a kayak and let Broken Paddle Guiding show you the ways of the water.

¨ Play Bird Bingo

while walking on any of the area’s trails.

¨ Fly a Kite

atop Memorial Park for the best breezes.

¨ Pick Up a Racket

and play some tennis on the courts at A. P. Anderson or Colvill Park

¨ Let the Kids Play at Universal Playground in Colvill Park, the largest playground in town.

¨ Marvel at the Monuments

in the sculpture garden at the Anderson Center.

¨ Plan a Picnic

in any of our city parks.

Summer

¨ Find Fresh Produce

at the Red Wing Area Farmers Market held Saturdays at the Depot or weekdays by City Hall.

¨ Balance and Paddle on a paddleboard with Broken Paddle Guiding.

¨ Dance to the Music

playing at Harbor Bar’s outdoor summer music festivals.

¨ Beat the Net

or the other team when you play Volleyball at A. P. Anderson or Bay Point Park.

¨ Wine Down

One of our biggest town festivals that is held the first weekend in August!

¨ Ride your Bike

On the Cannon Valley Trail with help from the Red Wing Bicycle Co. & Outfitters.

¨ Smell the Roses

or other beautiful and unique flowers found in the Discovery Garden and Pollinator Park.

¨ Take Out the Boat

from a local marina onto the Mighty Mississippi.

in the tasting room of Flower Valley Vineyard or the deck of Falconer Vineyards.

¨ Go for Gold

at the Red Wing Water Park or cool off at The Lagoon at Treasure Island.

rented from Red Wing Marina.

¨ Try Geocaching

throughout Red Wing’s parks and bluffs.

¨ Toss out a Line

at Pottery Pond, west of Bay Point Park. It’s well-stocked annually.
