More Ways...More Choices... To Reach More People...

Committee calls for community input In September, Battlefords United Way hosted a Community Conversation. More than 120 citizens of the Battlefords participated in this conversation and talked about their vision for the future of their community. Community members volunteered to organize the data collected during the conversation. These members include: Ed Lee, Gary and Dawn Lund, Kathy Byl, Allana Tucker, Emily Hardy,

Cameron Duncan, Carla Bernier, Rhonda Seidle and Treena Rathwell. The committee says it is important they do not make recommendations on behalf of the community. The committee is hosting “The Community Change Café” to discuss what citizens want to change in the community. The committee says no one should be frightened to attend; the evening will be set up just like a café, a place to share ideas and brainstorm

about possibilities for action. Community Change Café will be on May 21 at the Don Ross Centre gymnasium. Supper will be provided at 5 p.m. followed with the conversation until 9 p.m. Register by calling the Battlefords United Way office at 4451717 or e-mail Treena at rathwell@northbattleford. unitedway.ca by May 20. Participants do not have to have attended the first conversation in order to participate in the café.
