Don’t forget to Dead-head!

Keep flowers coming on your plants by promptly removing any heads that die off, to encourage repeat flowerings. If you are going away for a week or two, removing any flower heads that are nearing their end will help ensure you come home to a good display of flowers. If we do get rain, nipping into the garden afterwards to gently shake the water from flower heads that hold the droplets, such as pelargoniums and peonies, will help to stop them turning brown and rotting. You can also remove any flowers that have been damaged by wind or rain that might otherwise spoil your display.
