Data Product Lead Full Time Permanent Matthew Parker Street (London) Overall Job Purpose:
The Data Product Lead role works closely with the Head of Data, Data Engineers, BI Engineers and business stakeholders to document and prioritise requirements, plan and oversee development and delivery of data products, enhancements and fixes and contribute to Go-Ahead’s Data Strategy and Product Roadmap.
Principal Accountabilities: • • • • • • • •
Provide analysis to support the production of requirements (in the form of Epics, User Stories, Tasks and Acceptance Criteria) and Business Cases for Data initiatives and enhancements Own and maintain the Product Backlog, Sprint and Delivery Plans (for both planned development and BAU support tasks) Define Sprint Goals, and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including; Stand-Ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint and Release Planning, Sprint Retrospectives and Show and Tells Identify, document, track and manage risks and issues Identify, manage, and unblock impediments to delivery and protect the development team from distractions which interfere with Sprint Goals Own communication and progress reporting for the Data Centre of Excellence Act as a servant-leader to the team, coach team members on Agile values, principles and practices Facilitate and manage conflict resolution and empower the team to self-manage and organise
Knowledge & Experience: Essential • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
A strong Business, Computing, Numerical or Science background is required Recognised Agile, Project Management or Business Analysis Certifications Strong knowledge of Product Development, Requirements Analysis and Agile Delivery Working knowledge of Azure DevOps Good understanding of how businesses can utilise Data / Reporting to add value Agile Product Delivery methodologies (We use DSDM & SCRUM) Demonstrable ability to deliver complex data, technology and business change initiatives on time and in budget Experience in managing stakeholder expectations, balancing business appetite for change with strategy, constraints and competing priorities Working in an Agile development environment Extensive experience of managing Agile Delivery and Requirements Analysis Strong demonstrable collaboration and communication skills Ability to clearly articulate problems and define solutions Comfortable working within a team empowered to make autonomous decisions within a design framework Strong leadership, influencing and coaching skills

A related Degree or recognised qualifications and experience Understanding of the Microsoft Azure Data Platform (Our current product stack is Databricks, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Snowflake, Power BI) Experience of working in a new or recently established data function Experience of working in a multi-brand or company environment Experience in formulating and implementing a new product delivery strategy Extensive Business Analysis and Agile Delivery Management experience A good understanding of best practice product development principles (including Product Roadmap Development)
