Chamber Board President Graduates from Local Leadership Program

Ashley M. Hershey, CPA, CITP, MBA, Senior Manager at Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz (BSSF) and president of the New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce recently graduated from the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Hanover program.

Leadership Hanover is a six-month leadership program focused on developing connections in the Hanover community. The program aims to help make leaders more successful by increasing area knowledge and building key relationships within the region.

Hershey has over 10 years of public accounting experience and specializes in providing financial statement, tax and consulting services for local governments, nonprofits and closely held businesses. She also assists businesses, individuals and nonprofits with federal, state and local tax filings, with a specialization in the complex areas of Form 990s required to be filed for non-profit organizations.

Hershey graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Personal Financial Planning and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). She is also a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP). This credential identifies professional accountants with the unique ability to provide business insight by leveraging the knowledge of information relationships and supporting technologies.

In addition to her role within BSSF and with the New Oxford Chamber, Hershey is also an avid community supporter and volunteer. She serves as treasurer of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Hanover and Spring Grove; secretary of the VNA Endowment Funds, Inc.; and treasurer and secretary of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce.

Due to her leadership roles, both at BSSF and within her community, Hershey was honored with Central Penn Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award in 2020.
