Newlife helps over 2,500 disabled children and their families every year, changing their lives for the better. We provide essential disability equipment such as wheelchairs, specialist beds and car seats, that has a huge impact on each child’s quality of life – reducing the risk of injury and pain, ensuring greater independence and enabling each child to reach their full potential. Our unique Emergency Equipment Loan service ensures children who are terminally ill, or at significant risk of injury, receive the equipment they urgently need within 72 hours.
Why we need your support
There are over 1.1 million disabled children in the UK, 33% more than there were a decade ago, but fewer of them are getting the support they need. As a charity, we are experiencing record demand for help from families, and it is the generosity of people like you who make it possible for us to reach those in need.
Our dedicated Nurse Helpline provides information and support for families when they need it most. We also provide a voice for families, campaigning to improve local services and government policy on the key issues that affect their lives.

Meet Ben Ten-year-old Ben loves football and despite not being able to walk independently, with a walker he can join in and play with his school friends. However, Ben didn’t have a walker available to him at school, so he would have no choice but to sit out and watch while his friends went off to play without him. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Newlife was able to provide Ben with a walker that he can use at school. The walker made such a difference to Ben’s life in so many ways not only does it mean he can access more of the playground independently and is not stuck in his wheelchair all day, but being able to join in the fun and games with his friends is enormously beneficial to Ben’s wellbeing.
