Back-to-School with Camp Sunshine Ages 4-5 Cherry Hill Park This summer isn’t over yet! Do not miss out on one of the last full weeks of summer break. New this year, we will now conduct a brief orientation for Camp Sunshine and Day Camp families to be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011, beginning at 2:00pm at the Lions Community Center, Room 1 (Entry C). Keeping Sports Safe All Ages LCC (Room 1) Entry C According to the National Trainers Association, about 1 in 10 high school athletes get injured, but many play through the game to save face with their coaches, parents and peers. The professionals at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center believe in the healthy benefits of activities and sports, but want to share with you how to prevent serious injuries. Our Neurosurgical and Orthopedic sports enthusiasts will share up-to-date information about prevention, precautions, and how to know when something may be serious. This seminar will allow for audience questions, and is designed for student athletes, coaches, school administrators and parents. Please call Provena Health Connections to register at 815.725.9438. Summer Horse Camps Ages 7-18 Our summer camp programs provide a fun and exciting way to enjoy your summer vacation. In addition to learning all horsemanship skills (saddling, grooming, feeding and cleaning of their own horse), a daily riding lesson is included. Wednesday is “Wacky Water Day”. A Horse Show will be held on Thursday at 2:00pm for students to show off their new horse skills. Bring your camera! We offer reduced rates. Please register at the Park District Office. Challenger British Soccer Camp

Ages 3-14 Nelson Ridge Athletic Fields Challenger Sports, the number one provider of sports activities for children in the U.S., again brings their expertise and passion to the New Lenox community. All camps are staffed entirely by certified soccer coaches from the United Kingdom. Players learn skills through a variety of fun and challenging drills. Join in on the fun and excitement this Summer! Each camper will receive a Challenger soccer ball and a British Soccer Camp T-shirt. Grades 3-8 (2011-2012 School Year) Lincoln-Way West High School Field House This Basketball Camp, taught by Pride basketball coaches, will help polish and further develop your current skills. We will also develop your knowledge of the game by demonstrating offensive and defensive strategies. Come to camp for an exciting and fun atmosphere to improve your game. Tennis Camp Ages 4-14 Lincoln-Way Central High School Tennis Courts Children will be introduced to the sport by various drills that will work on hand-eye coordination. They will be instructed on the proper grips, various stroke techniques (forehand, backhand, overhead, volley and serve) along with the areas of the court and scoring methods. Middle school participants will work at sharpening their skills and learn to use different strokes in matches. ALL participants must bring their own tennis racquet and are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Tennis balls will be supplied. Ages 7-14 Lincoln-Way West High School Field House Join former Duke All-American, Phil Henderson, at the All-American Basketball Academy for basketball drills, games and contests. Learn how to improve your basketball skills and knowledge of the game while having fun during the summer break from school. Phil Henderson will only be present for a limited duration of the camp schedule; however he trains and certifies all camp staff based on a professional coaching curriculum. Stage Play: Musical Theater for Kids! Ages 6-12 LCC (Room 2) Entry E Does your child love to sing, dance and perform for others? Then join us for an intense yet entertaining program in musical theater for young girls and boys. We emphasize the journey toward producing a show from start to finish; creating a fun and non-competitive environment for kids to stretch their dramatic wings. This summer our production of “Destination America” tells its story…from Nashville to Seattle, New York to L.A., and everywhere in between, the heart of America is beating in its music.
