racy Thomas is clinging to the side of a mountain. She’s unprepared, inexperienced and hanging on for dear life. “Wow, this is really hard!” she thinks, “I am hurting! I don’t know what I’m doing!” And she’s doing this for five days. Why would she put herself in this precarious, dangerous position for that long? “You know,” she tells me, “I just wanted to try it.” Thankfully, I’m not on the side of the mountain with her. Perhaps more thankfully, neither is she anymore, but she’s imparting this years-old tale as we sit in our respective homes and talk via
