Remote homecoming : Chapter one Video Program Curated by Amirali Ghasemi Remote Homecoming is a platform designed to bring videos made by Iranians across the border remotely back home, and to bridge the gap between so called “inside” and “outside”, while acknowledging these terms are fading rather quickly or at least are changing tremendously in the 21st century, still there are numerous obstacles to communicate between the scenes and there is a lot to be learnt. Chapter one of remote homecoming is a selection of short films, videos and performances from a wide range of Iranian artists from emerging to established and tries to show a gradient of practices across various disciplines and mediums, while focusing on professional use of sound, visuals and performance as its point of departure.

س ّکویی است برای تبادل تجربیات ویدیویی ایرانیان خارج از کشور و برگرداندن “ از راه دور” آثار،بازگشت به خانه از راه دور این مفاهیم به، تالشی آهسته برای پل زدن بین به اصطالح “ خارج” و “ داخل” با پذیرفتن آنکه در قرن حاضر، ”آنان به “خانه سرعت در حال محو شدن یا حداقل تغییر اساسی اند؛ و هنوز برای برقراری ارتباط بین این دو صحنه موانع بیشماری وجود دارد و و اجرا‌هایی، ویدیو‌ها، شامل مجموعه‌ای از فیلم‌های کوتاه، فصل اول بازگشت به خانه از راه دور.درس های بسیاری برای آموختن است که از بازه گسترده ای از هنرمندان جوان تا شناخته شده و پر تجربه را شامل می‌شود و سعی بر آن دارد که طیف متنوعی از تصویر و اجرا را برای سر آغاز، ضمن اینکه جنبه هایی حرفه ای از کار با صدا، چهارچوب ها و مدیوم ها را نمایش دهد، برخورد ها .خود برگزیده است

Alphabet. 2010. 1:30
Sona Safaei (Canada/Iran) The viewer finds herself or himself in front of a two-panel video in which two pencils start to print out two set of alphabets, one in English, from left to right, and the other in Farsi, from right to left. Safaei used a 5B drawing pencil, sharpened by a knife, followed her handwriting with a camera while she was writing the alphabets on a textured watercolor paper. A dense and textured sound floats along with the hand movements. It reaches the end in a beautifully arranged synchronized manner.

Zone End has an apocalyptic resonance to it, in which the elements of earth, fire, water and wind dominate, whilst the human forces of the state can only engage in dealing with the aftermath. Images of wind swept streets, rolling cans and plastic bottles career across the urban landscape with all the implications of some immanent disastrous event. The discarded mobile phone shows pictures of a rescue helicopter hovering but unable to effect any kind of evacuation, this short film exudes a darkness and a reference to human fragility.

Upwards is a video experiment with removing the narrative, transmitting the data only trough the audio channel with just one still image from a fixed camera. Recording the time (specially without letting the time passing become bearable for the viewer) is one of the aim of this experiment … The fact that nothing happens during the video and the frame being fixed, gives the view a chance to have an uninterrupted experience with time. انتقال اطالعات و دینامیزه کردن اثر تنها از طریق باند صوتی(تلویزیون) با استفاده،این ویدئو تجربه یی است در حذف روایت ثبت زمان (به ویژه با اجتناب از تحملپذیر کردن گذشت آن برای مخاطب) از جمله.از تنها یک پالن تصویری با دوربین ثابت فرصتی در اختیار مخاطب قرار میدهد که، اینکه در طول ویدئو اتفاقی نمی افتد و ثابت بودن تصاویر.اهداف این تجربه است .تجربه‌ای بی واسطه با زمان داشته باشد
