Birthplace of Country Music Recognized by the U.S. Congress as the official “Birthplace of Country Music,” Bristol pays tribute to the heritage of traditional bluegrass and country music.  Daily concerts, events, and jam-sessions are available year-round at a variety of venues. The Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion Music Festival in September hosts more than a dozen stages with over 100 artists. Bristol is also the home place of Tennessee Ernie Ford. Bristol Motor Speedway & Dragway Get up-close and personal with America’s favorite NASCAR track. The Speedway’s new fan zone provides an intimate look at racing with interactive videos, a replica of the track’s 36 banking, drag-racing simulators, and real cross-sectioned stock cars.
