The building sector accounts for 30-40% of world’s primary energy consumption and is responsible for about 33% of total global CO2 emission. Buildings also provide the highest economic GHG mitigation potential. This course is intended to introduce essential and practical understanding of energy processes and rational use of energy in buildings. This course is designed to develop an understanding of the production of an energy commodity, the route it takes to reach the ultimate end-user, the risks of dealing in physical energy commodities, and the financial commodity markets.
