How chronic stress and busy lifestyle affect our health!

Words NATALIA WEAVER

The stress of life is a modern complaint today. We are constantly bombarded with new information, 24/7 culture and communication devices demanding constant attention, all of which can lead to chronic stress. Stress can be a shortterm reaction to a particular situation, or it can be a long-term response.

Stress leads to increased coagulation in our blood which increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Coagulation is a protective mechanism from excessive bleeding, should injury occur in fight-orflight situations. Stress response is there for a reason and it’s meant to be limited to scenarios when facing life-threatening situations. Unfortunately, a lot of people in our modern culture are staying in fight-or-flight mode permanently. It can become dangerous and damaging to our health and especially to our heart. Many coronary events occur in individuals with normal cholesterol levels and no evidence of risk of cardiovascular disease.

So how can we assess if we are at risk of developing cardiovascular disease and find out if our body is in a state of constant stress?

Live Blood Analysis can give us an accurate picture of how stressed we are. Unlike other medical tests, Live Blood Analysis is the only test which allows us to see how blood cells interact in their living state inside our body. The live blood is observed under a microscope, allowing a patient to see their blood sample on the computer screen. The blood cells are still alive and give an accurate picture of a patient’s health on the cellular level.

Increased coagulation of the blood during stress disrupts optimum homeostasis and quality of our blood. The blood becomes sticky, meaning red blood cells are stacked together instead of flowing separately.

The blood cells can no longer function normally. This leads to oxygen starvation of cells and tissues. Also elimination of waste products from the cells is disrupted which leads to a chemical and toxin overload in our body. Sticky blood contributes to a plaque build-up in our blood vessels, thus increasing the risk of having a heart attack.

At Vibrant Health Clinic we recognise the need for early detection of chronic stress and the risk of development of cardiovascular disease. We recommend adaptogenic supplementation treatment protocol to help our patients to overcome chronic stress and gain health and vitality. Patients start feeling increased resistance to stress, more energy and can observe a significant change in their blood sample just one month after following the adaptogenic treatment protocol.

As it’s increasingly difficult to avoid stress in our busy lives, it’s our responsibility to help our body to recover from chronic stress as quickly as possible. If you are feeling stressed, then start taking steps towards recovery and better health today!
