shown has been one of the big reasons we've been so good at the back." Hamish says all the guys play for each other and it helps with communication. "We all enjoy playing alongside each other and that shows in the results." The Seals have one more league game play, against Richmond, before the cup games start. In other results; Richmond beat Nelson 3-2 at Jubilee Park, Marlborough downed FC Nelson 4-2 at Victory Square and Nelson Suburbs Reserves cruised past Wakefield 7-0. It was appropriate Suburbs Seals earned their second consecutive Nelson Bays division one football league title with a clean sheet. The Seals beat Tahuna 3-0 to win the league with a game to spare. The defending champions conceded just 12 goals in 13 games on their way to the title. The irony being, four of those came in their opening match against club mates Nelson Suburbs Reserves. Captain Hamish Lewis, Neil Connell, Nathan Haymes, Matty Elliott and goal keeper Brett Yates have proven to be a difficult last line of defence to penetrate. Coach Brendan Hodgson says while the team has struggled at times in front of goal, their ability to keep goals out was probably the major key to success. "Considering we've conceded six goals against our other Suburbs team, we've done really well against stronger competition this year." Brendan says the work of Nathan in central defence had been most impressive. "We have experienced guys, but the improvement Nathan has

Map showing the areas (in red) that are closed to the taking and possessing of scallops for the 2016-17 Southern Scallop Fishery season. Following consultation on the long-term sustainability of the Southern Scallop Fishery (SCA7), there will be a temporary partial area closure in place for the taking and possession of scallops in the Nelson and Marlborough Sounds area for the 2016-17 season, starting Friday 15 July 2016 and ending 14 February 2017. No person may take or possess scallops from the areas marked in red on the map above. The partial area closure applies to both commercial and recreational fishers, and gives the scallop beds time to rest and recover. This ensures our shared fishery space remains sustainable now, and into the future. During the closure period, longer-term management options will be developed. If you have any questions about the closure please contact the Nelson MPI Fisheries office on 03 548 1069, search MPIFisheriesNelsonMarlboroughKaikoura on Facebook, or visit www.mpi.govt.nz/news-and-resources/consultations. MPI Offices Blenheim, State Highway 1, Main Road, Blenheim – (03) 579 1088 Nelson, 118 Vickerman Street, Port Nelson – (03) 548 1069
