The battle for honours in the Beginners Shield is a close run thing as just thirteen points cover the top five places. Nine year old Spencer Ingram holds a slender lead with 75 points, having won all of the current rounds, ten year old Ella Chappell-Smith holds second place on 70, with newest member of the renowned Connor family seven year old George in third on 65. Eight year old Lucy Hooper is just a point behind in fourth with seven year old Codie Yates in fifth place on 62.

Last year's Beginner Shield winner Blake Myles has now been upgraded to the Novice Shield and is making short work of success in this class, the ten year old has won all rounds and has 75 points, thirteen year old Ella Barron is second with 63 and fourteen year old Kareem Capstick is third with 56.
Thirteen year old Ella Cashman holds fourth place on 46 with a tie between seven year old Zac Jones and nine year old Jimmy Connor for fifth place; great to see another member of the Connor clan mixing it with the regulars.
The Support Class is headed by fourteen year old Samuel Meeten on his electric Oset machine with 50 points, another Oset rider and National competitor seven year old Sam LeFevre is second with 48 points with ten year old Kai Fisher riding his Beta machine holding third place on 44. Eight year old Howard Mumford riding his immaculate Yamaha TY80 is fourth on 42 and fifteen year old Seren Walters fifth on 31.

With the current lockdown due to the Coronavirus, it could mean that there will be no further rounds held and these scores dictate the final championship winners, there is hope that the final round in June will be able to take place at Kitsmead.
The club always welcomes new members and have machines available should any children wish to sample the sport, parents are asked to contact Eddie Renham on 01784 452225 to ensure that a suitable bike is available.
