Past President Chief Peter McArdle Recognized
The Town of Babylon recently congratulated past President of the Fire Chiefs Association Peter McArdle for his many years of service.
Chief Peter McArdle is a 39-year West Babylon Volunteer Fire Department member. He served as Lieutenant and Captain of Rendezvous Truck Company #4, a member of the Chief’s Office from 2008 through 2016, and the Fire Chief’s Association
Executive Board from 2017 to 2022. In his term as President, Chief McArdle played an instrumental role in guiding the Town of Babylon Fire Departments and local officials through the response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Supervisor Schaffer said, “Whether it was Superstorm Sandy or the Covid-19 pandemic, Chief McArdle was a calm voice of reassurance that we will get through this in the most professional way.” Councilman and Public Safety Chairman Terence McSweeney added “Chief McArdle’s knowledge and professionalism was a key part of getting through some of the most challenging times as a first responder.
