The transfer of the 63 barangays in the different municipalities of Cotabato Province and Cotabato City to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has decreased the total land area, as well as the population of the region. Given this development, RDC XII passed Resolution No. 139, series of 2020, Approving and Adopting the Proposed Outline of the SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Spatial Development Framework 2015-2045 (2020 Update). The occurrence of the CoVID19 pandemic hindered the conduct of planning workshops of the Regional Land Use Committee XII-Technical Working Group (RLUC XII-TWG).
