Creating Community

Our campus community centers foster an inclusive campus community and seek to provide personal, academic and professional support. Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) Programming and events from MSA promote academic success as well as a sense of belonging and community for traditionally marginalized and underserved students.

LGBTQ Pride Center Students have access to a variety of resources to engage, develop and empower members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities and their allies.

African American Cultural Center (AACC) In order to promote awareness of and appreciation for African American and other African descent experiences, the AACC offers activities that enhance academic excellence and cultural competence for the campus and surrounding communities.

Women’s Center The Women’s Center provides opportunities to build community, increases awareness about issues surrounding gender equity and offers a place to pursue social justice.

Academic Success Center The Academic Success Center provides assistance for all of your classes in one place. Get assistance with your writing skills, drop in for tutoring or schedule weekly sessions. You can also pair up with a peer mentor to improve your academic success skills.

Career Development Center Created to help our students become stand-out job candidates, the Career Development Center works with you from the moment you step on campus to identify your career goals. The Career Development Center offers interview practice, resume writing assistance and helps lead you to the best internships and jobs.

Academic Advising Meeting with your academic advisor will be one of the first things you do as a new student at NC State. In addition to getting you registered for your first semester, your advisor will help you stay up to date on program requirements and keep you on track to graduate.

Lasting Traditions

NC State embraces over a century of traditions which bond the Wolfpack across generations. Each iconic event and cherished symbol is a part of NC State’s rich history, all born of our innovative spirit. Symposium for Multicultural Scholars Multicultural Student Affairs hosts the Symposium for Multicultural Scholars every year to provide students with a sense of community and information about campus support and resources.

Pan-Afrikan Week NC State celebrates Pan-Afrikan Week, a worldwide intellectual movement aiming to strengthen the bonds of solidarity between all people of African descent.

Annual Latinx Cookout This event celebrates the important presence of Latin American culture in the U.S. through food, music and performances.

NC State Powwow This gathering embraces indigenous cultures through Native business vendors, traditional drum groups and the display of different dance styles.
