Pecina earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2000. Pecina currently lives in Annapolis with his wife, Kait, and their daughter, Sofia.

Matt Muzza

} Sports Information } SUNY Cortland (2008) Matt Muzza is in his seventh year at Navy, where he serves as Assistant Sports Information Director. He serves as the primary media contact for the men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, women’s golf and sailing programs. Prior to Navy, Muzza spent two years as a sports information graduate assistant at Binghamton University. He also served a one-year undergraduate internship at Binghamton and was a student assistant while at SUNY Cortland. Muzza earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland and owns a master’s degree in student affairs administration from Binghamton. Muzza is a member of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). In 2013 Muzza’s feature on a Navy cross country runner was selected as the best ‘Athlete Profile’ for District II in the CoSIDA Fred S. Stabley writing contest.

Peter Ford

} Equipment } Georgia (2009) Peter Ford is in his fifth year at Navy, where he serves as Assistant Director of Equipment Operations. Ford works with the men’s basketball, wrestling and swimming & diving programs. Prior to Navy, Ford worked as a full-time equipment manager at Georgia Southern. He also interned for two years with the Atlanta Falcons and for one year at Georgia

Tech. Ford graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He served as a student equipment manager while attending Georgia. Ford and his wife, Maggie, reside in Annapolis.

Scott Strasemeier

} Sport Administrator } Indiana (1991) Scott Strasemeier is in his 26th year at Navy, where he serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information. He is the primary media contact for the football program and is the sport administrator for men’s basketball and women’s lacrosse. During his time in Annapolis, Strasemeier has served as the Media Relations Director for 11 Army-Navy football games, four NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Quarterfinals, the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Final Four, the NCAA Men’s Hockey Frozen Four and the Aloha Bowl and the Oahu Bowl. He has also worked multiple NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments - both the first and second rounds and the regionals. Strasemeier started at Navy in 1991 as a Sports Information Intern before moving up to Assistant Sports Information Director for four years. In 1996, he became the Sports Information Director, from which he would become of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information in 2003 and then his current title in 2007 as Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information. Strasemeier earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Marketing & Management from Indiana University in 1991. He currently resides in Annapolis with his wife, Kristen.

Joe Fondale

} Strength and Conditioning } Ohio (2000) Joe Fondale is in his seventh year as a member of the strength and conditioning staff at the U.S. Naval Academy where he is responsible for program design for men’s basketball, men’s track and field, women’s soccer and the men’s and women’s golf teams. Fondale came to the United States Naval Academy from Ohio University where he served as the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning from 2005-09. Prior to his appointment at Ohio, Fondale held assistant strength and conditioning positions at the University of North Dakota, the University of Texas-El Paso and the Los Angeles Dodgers. While earning a BS degree in Exercise Science, Fondale won four varsity letters as a fullback on the football team at Ohio University. He then stayed at his alma mater to earn an MS in Sports Sciences in 2002. His certifications include the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Track and Field Level I Coach and USA Weightlifting Senior Coach. As a competitive weightlifter, Fondale has qualified for and competed in the USA Weightlifting National Championships 10 times. In 2012 Fondale won USA Weightlifting’s National Master’s Championship at 94 kilograms and the meet’s best lifter award, 35-39 years old. In 2013 Fondale repeated as national master’s champion and won the gold medal at the Pan American Master’s Weightlifting Championships. In 2014 Fondale was second at the Pan American Master’s Weightlifting Championships. In 2015 Fondale won the USA Weightlifting’s National Master’s Championship at 105 kilograms. A native of Junction City, Ohio, Fondale resides in Annapolis with his wife, Allison, and two daughters, Elaine and Claire.

Nolan Barry

} Marketing } Indiana (2009) Nolan Barry is in his seventh year at Navy, where he serves the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions. Prior to Navy, Barry worked as an intern in the Marketing and Promotions Department at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. He also held prior internships with Scout Camp Pro Regional Combines, Indiana University Rowing Operations and the Big 10 Network Tour. Barry earned his master’s degree in athletic administration and management with emphasis on marketing from Indiana University in May of 2010. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sport marketing and management with minors in business administration and communication and culture from Indiana University in May 2009. Nolan and his wife, Kaitlin, reside in Annapolis.
