With the developments of new evidence-based best practices, respect for client’s preferences, and careful attention to signs of improvement, recovery is the most likely outcome.

In my twenty years as CEO of Navos I have been proud to be part of an organization that has been a frontrunner in innovation and applying best practices in new therapies as they emerge. Navos has taken the lead in overcoming the legacy of trauma, decreasing disparities, increasing access to healthcare, and creating healthy futures for people (from infants to older adults) who are most vulnerable. In fact, 90 percent of all those we treat live at or near the poverty line, and of the children and youth we serve, the number is 92 percent. As one of the largest community behavioral health providers in the state, we continue to be a leader in developing innovative solutions that are effective in healing mental illnesses and substance use disorders. We have proudly evolved to create a comprehensive continuum of care to meet the specialized treatment needs of young children, adolescents and adults of all ages who come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. As a leader in trauma-informed care, we mitigate the legacy of traumatic stressors on children, youth and adults. With this model of care throughout all of our programs, we create a therapeutic, healing environment and eliminate potential triggers that could re-traumatize people in our care. We can be confident that science-based treatment works and that those we serve will improve their functioning no matter how severe their symptoms. Children can succeed in school; adults can live independently and succeed at work; and older adults can live well while remaining in their homes or in supportive community living situations. Navos is proud to be at the forefront of implementing emerging treatments and innovative approaches to improving care for our clients. PARTNERSHIPS & RECOGNITION Dedicated to ensuring that Navos is an employer, service provider and community partner that promotes diversity and champions inclusion for all By combining professional talents and clinical strengths by our affiliation with MultiCare Health System, we are in a better position to serve more vulnerable children, youth, and adults in need of our help and benefit from more fully integrated physical and behavioral healthcare to ensure the health of the whole individual and family. Recognized with a gold award for our Peer Bridger Program at the Seattle Business Magazine 2017 Washington Leaders in Healthcare Awards, in the category of “Innovative Healthcare Delivery.” Our Peer Bridger Program reduces re-hospitalizations by helping patients make a successful transition to the community after being discharged. The program brings specially trained employees, who have the benefit of “lived experience” recovering from their own serious mental illness, together with current patients. Navos’ CEO, David Johnson was honored as one of the 14 Outstanding Voices of gay people in business leadership roles for 2018 by the Puget Sound Business Journal. David is passionate about decreasing the tragedy of suicide. He says, “every success we have in making society not only more accepting of sexual minorities, but actually celebrating and being glad to include LGBTQ folks, decreases the likelihood of isolation and people wrongly concluding that the world might be better off without them. My mission is to champion vibrant lives for LGBTQ people based on their strengths rather than being stuck in their mistaken sense that they are somehow “wrong” and shouldn’t expect others to treat them with respect rather than disdain.”
