The annual capacity of 144,000 tonnes per year is based on the use of stateof-the-art machines and innovative manufacturing methods. Late in 2009 our manufacturing facility in Lubmin was extended by 6,400m². This manufacturing facility is, like Rostock, connected to a sea port allowing the shipment of pipes with a total weight of up to 900 tonnes and a length of almost 100 metres. 430 staff are currently employed at these plants.

A new production hall to consolidate the production area in Lubmin was finished in Rostock at the end of 2013. With the construction of this new production hall EEW SPC has created the infrastructural conditions to produce XL monopiles in their entire length by the end of 2014. In June 2013 a cylindrical pipe section with a diameter of 10m was successfully produced from a 31.4m long, 3m wide, and 95mm thick plate, proving that EEW SPC is ready for the production of XL monopiles in the future. The XL monopile enables a single foundation structure to be used for offshore wind farms up to a water depth of 40 metre making them the most economic foundation structure available at present.

With the extensions EEW SPC will have a total of 32,000m² fabrication capability under roof and 155,000m² of storage area. With our current order intake included, EEW SPC has participated, as foundation manufacturer, in the installation of approx. 1,000 WTGs for OWF projects in Germany, UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and the USA.
