I
t was a typical midweek morning and I was getting ready for work. I jumped in the shower and did my breast self-exam as I routinely did every month. Something stopped me in my tracks, a hard lump the size of a walnut that I had never felt before. Thus, began my healing journey with breast cancer. Discovering that lump forever changed the course of my life both personally and professionally. How could someone like me develop breast cancer? I was the Wellness Warrior, educating my patients about health and wellness for the past 23 years.
