Connect-to-Protect: Trailer Wire Harness Total Protection Systems

By Alan McNaul and Victor Cunha, Directors, Hanington Innovations Limited

The Connect-to-Protect is completely unique, patent pending, is the only complete solution to trailer wire harness protection, and fills a vital gap in the trailer wire harness sector. Trailer wire harnesses frequently don’t work when you attempt to use them; especially when you need them the most. The Problem Electrical trailer wiring harnesses are usually suspended and hang from the trailer tongue. As a result, it is subject to damage from trailer movement, corrosion and fouling from external elements such as dirt and moisture. A damaged trailer wire connector can also damage the onboard vehicle-end connection when coupled together. This can potentially burden the customer with the expense and inconvenience of damaged trailer and vehicle wiring, resulting in inoperable lighting and safety systems; and may also cause the owner to be subject to Motor Vehicle Act fines, and finally render the trailer unavailable for use.

Whether it’s for camping, hauling cargo, picking up landscaping supplies, moving furniture, taking your boat to a favourite fishing spot or conducting commercial activity, the last thing your customers want to do is engage in an expensive, inconvenient, and time consuming repair before being able to use your trailer; or to inflict damage to their towing vehicle wire harness from trying to use a damaged trailer plug. The Solution Connect-to-Protect provides a secure mount and offers protection for the trailer harness while the trailer is not in use. The trailer harness connection wire is secured off of the ground, ensuring that no damage can occur due to trailer movement. The trailer wire harness connector is coupled to the Connect-to-Protect which protects it from all external elements such as dirt, moisture, and corrosion. Hanington Innovations Limited is introducing the product and anticipates that trailer manufacturers will equip their trailers with the Connect-to-Protect in order to offer their customers higher
