DAYS 1–8 I ENGLAND/EGYPT/ETHIOPIA/ RWANDA Arrive in London and fly by private jet to Luxor, Egypt. Experience Karnak and see the tombs of Tutankhamun and Seti I in the Valley of the Kings, then visit Nefertari’s tomb and the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Discover the historic sites of Addis Ababa, then fly by local aircraft to the 12th-century subterranean churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tour the sites of Kigali or travel to Volcanoes National Park to search out gorillas and golden monkeys.

DAYS 9–15 I MADAGASCAR/SOUTH AFRICA/BOTSWANA Touch down on the island of Nosy Be and spot lemurs and chameleons on a nature walk. Cruise to Lokobe Reserve for a rainforest hike or sail to Nosy Tanikely to snorkel. In Cape Town, ride a cable car up Table Mountain and explore the Cape Peninsula; visit Robben Island and the District Six Museum; or go wine-tasting in the Cape Winelands. Fly to Botswana and continue by light aircraft to the Okavango Delta. Enjoy two days on safari by vehicle, boat, and on foot.

DAYS 16–23 I BENIN/SENEGAL/MOROCCO/ ENGLAND Travel to Cotonou, Benin and drive to Ouidah. Meet an elder to learn about the animist Vodun, or “voodoo” religion, and cruise to the stilt village of Ganvié. In Dakar, Senegal, take a city tour and ride the ferry to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Gorée Island. Tour the IFAN Museum or travel to Lake Retba to visit a Peul (Fulani) village. Continue to Marrakech and visit the city’s historic sites, enjoy a cooking class, or explore traditional villages in the Atlas Mountains. Return to London and fly home the next day.
