Northeast Passage: An Unforgettable Voyage from Norway to Alaska

DAYS 1–5 I U.S./OSLO, NORWAY/TROMSØ/ NORWEGIAN FJORDS Depart the U.S. and arrive in Oslo the following morning. Tour the city and stay overnight before flying to Tromsø to embark our ship. DAYS 6–25 I THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC In keeping with the nature of an expedition, our day-by-day itinerary will be flexible. Below are some of the stops that we plan to make.

FRANZ JOSEF LAND The world’s northernmost archipelago, Franz Josef Land’s uninhabited islands remain frozen under ice for much of the year. Here, observe polar bears, walruses, arctic seabirds, and perhaps narwhals. NOVAYA ZEMLYA AND SEVERNAYA ZEMLYA Cruise to the heavily glaciated coastlines of these two archipelagos. As we sail under 24 hours of daylight, be on the lookout beluga whales and other marine mammals. NEW SIBERIAN ISLANDS These rocky outposts harbor abundant wildlife including walruses and seabirds. WRANGEL ISLAND Spend time exploring the Wrangel Island Reserve, home to the world’s highest density of ancestral polar bear dens. CHUKCHI SEA Visit Kolyuchin Island and Inlet in Chukotka. Explore untouched coastlines by Zodiac, and go hiking on shore. Meals: 20B, 20L, 20D

DAY 26 I NOME, ALASKA, U.S. Arrive in Nome, and fly home via Anchorage. Meals: 1B 26 DAYS FROM $36,990

A diverse expedition team, including an Expedition Leader, a photo instructor, and local naturalists, will accompany this trip. National Geographic photographer Erika Larsen will join the July 18, 2021 departure.
