DAY 1 I LIMA, PERU Arrive in Lima and transfer to our hotel. Wyndham Costa del Sol

DAYS 2–3 I CUSCO/SACRED VALLEY/ MACHU PICCHU Fly to Cusco and travel through the Urubamba Valley, known as the Sacred Valley of the Inca, to our base for the next two nights. Learn about Andean weaving from Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, a National Geographic Grantee. Explore the stone fortress of Ollantaytambo, then board the train to Machu Picchu and spend an afternoon exploring the spectacular ruins. Tambo del Inka I Meals: 2B, 2L, 2D

DAYS 4–5 I CUSCO/GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR Return to Cusco to explore this Inca imperial city and spend the night. The next day, fly to Guayaquil for the night. DAYS 6–9 I GALÁPAGOS During our time in the Galápagos, we will make stops at Isla Santa Cruz and a selection of other islands.* We'll join our naturalists on walks to learn about endemic wildlife, with opportunities to swim, snorkel, and explore by kayak or Zodiac. We may encounter marine iguanas on Isla Santiago, swim with sea lions on Isla Plaza Sur, and walk among giant tortoises on Isla Santa Cruz. Meals: 4B, 4L, 4D

DAY 10 I GALÁPAGOS/GUAYAQUIL After breakfast, disembark in Baltra and fly to Guayaquil for day rooms and connections home. Hotel del Parque I Meals: 1B

A diverse expedition team, including an Expedition Leader, a photo instructor, and local naturalists, will accompany this trip. A National Geographic Expert will join select departures.
