DAYS 16–22 I FRANZ JOSEF LAND/AT SEA Discover the dramatic scenery of the world’s northernmost archipelago, Franz Josef Land. Learn about the 2013 expedition here led by National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Enric Sala, which resulted in the first deep-sea footage of the Greenland shark; and set out by Zodiac and kayak to witness dramatic icescapes before sailing back to Norway. DAYS 5–10 I MURMANSK, RUSSIA/AT SEA/ NOVAYA ZEMLYA Cross into Russian waters and explore Murmansk, the largest seaport above the Arctic Circle.
