The highly-decorated Skye Terrier “Charlie,” #1-ranked in both the breed and the group, won the favor of the Best In Show judge to become the 14th Best In Show winner of The National Dog Show Presented by Purina® last year during the annual Kennel Club of Philadelphia cluster. One of America’s great showdogs in 2014-15, CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie (aka Charlie) was selected by Best In Show Judge Ms. Elizabeth “Beth” Sweigart, of Bowmansville, PA from among the seven group-winning canines advancing out of the 1,700-dog competition at the tradition-rich, all-breed show. Charlie’s win was celebrated in multiple major media outlets in addition to being witnessed by 20 millionplus total viewers on Thanksgiving Day. “Charlie is a truly impressive Skye Terrier and Skye Terrier is not a big “winning” breed (in dog shows),” said handler Larry Cornelius of Ocala, FL. “I believe in Charlie 100 percent, but you have to get the Best In Show judge to agree. This time, she did, thanks to Charlie.” “He (Charlie) is a lovely example of the breed,” offered Sweigart, who awarded the Skye Terrier his 79th Best In Show. “He is in impeccable condition, hard-muscled with a beautiful coat.” Charlie won Best In Show at the AKC National Championship Dog Show in December 2014 and is now retired in Ocala, FL, as the winningest Skye Terrier in the history of the breed.
