Wagner The Flying Dutchman Overture Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26 Brahms Symphony No. 3 in F, Op. 90 Bruch’s first violin concerto is a sublime concoction of sweet, soaring violin melodies and red-blooded orchestral writing. From its storm-tossed beginning and stately themes to its soaring conclusion, Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman overture provides romantic drama in abundance, while Brahms’ Third Symphony is a bold and brilliant work of pulsing and powerful emotions. Soundings, 7pm | Guest Talk UCD Head of Music Julian Horton on the evening’s Germanic repertoire
