NASC YEARBOOK 2021
At-Pac subsidiary, Global Site Solutions’s scaffolding management system Hi-Vis®, provides projects with real-time electronic scaffolding requests and scaffolding management processes to track all scaffolding resources, labour, and material deployed on the project. The software is designed to focus on planning and process controls to ensure all scaffolding resources are deployed in the most effective manner to maximise productivity and utilisation. It allows project management to better understand, manage, and control the scaffolding work process. Handy app Bilfinger UK uses field-based mobile apps, intelligent data management and reporting tools to eliminate all desk-based activity normally required to execute access services.. This solution also enables effective management of the scaffolding inventory, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. As scaffold data is held centrally it can provide a real-time overview of scaffolding activities and associated metrics to ensure that
all projects run smoothly and are on track. Within the app users can also take photographs of scaffolding structures, capture GPS locations, capture modifications and complete sign off with the press of a button. Furthermore, with the reporting functionality reports and live analytical dashboards can be created and shared with colleagues and clients to offer full transparency and traceability. Plug and go HAKI’s building information modelling program, HAKI BIM, offers advanced design capabilities within Autodesk Revit ® for temporary works and scaffold design engineers. The innovative plugin to Revit improves time and project management to achieve cost-savings for contractors, consultants, and end-clients, by simplifying, speeding up, and improving accuracy in the design process. More specifically, engineers using HAKI BIM can create exact 3D models and drawings of all types of HAKI scaffolding structures, reducing risk of error and project delays. and basic loadings also support logistical planning and management. Simplifying how designs are shared with the supply chain, stakeholders can collaborate on, review, and markup models using the online Autodesk Viewer®. Realistic rendering can also be applied to show a true-to-life representation of access, prior to build, and be explored further in virtual reality using the HAKI Playground. Oliver Daughtrey from 9Design is impressed. "It allows our clients to attain a deeper understanding of what the design will look like. We haven’t been on any project where the plugin hasn’t been successful. It drives productivity, saves time, and is a huge confidence boost.” Go for the flex Layher's Aluminium Allround FlexBeam won product of the year in NASC's 2019 awards. It is designed for use with support and suspension works as well as cantilevered scaffolding structures. It is especially suited for loading gantry scaffolds and street work pedestrian gantries made with minimal components but with higher load-bearing capacities. The U-shaped section top chord allows the direct suspension of system decks and achieves 40% higher bending load capacity but, crucially, without the need for compression chord bracing. FlexBeam key features: • Simplified cantilevered and suspended scaffold installations • 40% higher bending load capacity without the need for compression chord bracing • Achieves lower construction heights • Connects directly to Layher Allround • Additional fittings enhance and extend installation options • Optimises scaffold installations on curved structures.
