HURRICANE BILL GETS MAD AND FAT

by Nathan Guannan Zhang

WORLD-According to the "Emerging Markets" section of the Financial Times, it appears the economies of three of the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China = 'BRIC') have rebounded from the global economic crisis and are expanding again. This has been confirmed by a search of Google Finance, in a check of the Shanghai, Russian, Brasilian, and Mumbai stock exchanges. This is good news and bad news. On the one hand, an expanding China and Russia will cause a lot of currently heavily indignant conservative Americans to cry war, and thus will temporarily result in global stratopolitical instability. On the other hand, expanding economies lead to poverty alleviation, which leads to our common human race being just a few steps nearer to the end of war and a new world without poverty, without hate, and without fear. As has been said in the article to the right, our world needs less soldiers... our world need more entrepreneurs!

ATLANTIC OCEAN-Hurricane Bill is now a category four storm, says the National Hurricane Center (NHC). Over the week thus far, it has traced a path from its formation over the Caribbean towards Bermuda (which, by the way, is not in the Caribbean). Hurricane analysts estimate that the sotrm may grow even more severe and could cause quite a bit of damage once it makes landfall. The last 'storm of the century' in recent memory was Katrina, which devastated New Orleans and exposed the previous administration's lack of transparency and its systemic corruption. Fortunately the shrubbery is not if office anymore. Hopefully Bill does not make landfall in the United States, or we will just have to see how clean the current administration's hands are. From the 'universal healthcare' campaign, we already know we are looking at some problems in bipartisanship, namely that unity among Americans is starting to fall weak.

Arctic Sea Pirates Detained

ATLANTIC OCEAN-The Russian Navy arrested several pirates who hijacked the Arctic Sea a few days ago, reports Wikinews.org. Apparently the ship was handed over twice without a fight. The pirates are currently being detained aboard the destroyer Ladny. There have been numerous pirate attacks at ships all over the world since the global recession began. It should be remembered that while piracy is illegal in each and every form, it is still practiced because mouths need to be fed. Little mouths, that is. Young CHILDREN are starving all over the world, and usually the only two solutions are to sell one child into SLAVERY to feed the other or to commit a criminal act (it should be noted that both solutions are criminal acts and that industrialized countries are not immune to such practices. As a citizen of the world, isn't it your duty to help bring peace and prosperity to the world? Our world needs less soldiers... Our world needs more entrepreneurs.

Book Review: Who Moved My Cheese?

Today we review another one of Ken Blanchard's classic business treatises. Who Moved My Cheese? is an anecdotal observation of most office and managerial workers when they encounter roadblocks on the path to success. In the book, Mr. Blanchard tells the story of two mice who run along to find cheese. When they do, two human beings follow and also feast on the cheese. But then the cheese runs out. One of the humans then mopes around while the second one goes out in search of more cheese. Do they eventually find the cheese? Well, you'll just have to read it to find out! Who Moved My Cheese? is a classic, and I give it a N8R8 of 112, because it is appropriate for all ages (first 1), it regards issues that even children might have (second 1), and it is primarily intended for business audiences (third 2). Who Moved My Cheese? is an excellent book! I give it FIVE STARS! Works Cited Editor, "Arctic Sea Pirates Detained by Russian Navy".
