The studio's first prompt consisted of our own interpretation of an art piece. The piece I chose to experiment with was "Strips and Strings" by Mary Lee Bendolph (Seen to the left). Once we had an interpretation of the painting, we were tasked with creating reproduction and improvement pieces of the painting along with a 3D model of it. The main challenge of the remix pieces was the fact that we had to reuse the main qualities of the painting to create a piece that held a connection to the original. Once we got to the 3D aspect of the assignment the prompt changed forcing us to now create a form that held a familiarity to that of the reproduction and improvement pieces we had created prior to the models. This art piece was interesting to work with as there was nothing in particular that stood out, everything was one chaotic mess, without a dominant orientation.
