Our education programs are designed to support and enhance your classroom learning. Aligned to Florida Sunshine Standards and a focus on STEM, students will be practicing and expanding their skills. We bring student admiration for wildlife to the forefront of their minds, and connect real-world science and conservation action in a meaningful way. Join us on a journey that will foster conservation for the future.

Self-Guided Visits Choose your own adventure and take the lead on exploring the zoo with your students! Schools and groups can enjoy the everyday activities including the Seated Safari Show, Primate Expedition Cruise and the Meet the Keeper series.

Field Trip Experiences Make your field trip a valuable learning opportunity by including a unique Field Trip Experience! Taught by experienced educators, programs include interactive STEM lessons and an education animal encounter. Support the standards you are teaching in your classroom and expand learning opportunities for your students.

Outrageous Outsides (Early Education 3 – 5 year-olds) Sharpen student investigation skills through the exploration of animal and plant coverings. How does an animal’s outside help it survive? What about plants?

Students conduct simple experiments to explore how different outsides help with different needs.

Standards: VI.A.1.a.- b., VI.A.2.a., VI.B.1.a.

Savvy Senses (Early Education 3 – 5 year-olds) NEW! Become a sense-ational expert! Students will explore their own senses and learn the important role that senses play in their everyday life. Learning will extend into the animal kingdom as students master animal senses and environments through a series of interactive games, creative habitat construction, and the observation of live animals!

Standards: VI.B.1.e., VI.A.1.a, VI.A.1.b We Are All Unique! (Kindergarten & 1st grade) Earn your Zookeeper keys! Challenge your observation skills and learn about the unique characteristics of animal families. Identify the individuals by their traits so you can give them the best care possible.

Standards: SC.K.L.14.3, SC.1.L.16.1 Animal Sizes (Kindergarten & 1st grade) Compare students to animals! Are students as tall as a tiger? Are a student’s hands as big as a black bear’s paws? Students will use non-standard measurements to discover the diversity of animals and how their sizeable features stack up for survival.

Standards: SC.K.P.8.1, SC.1.L.17.1, SC.1.P.8.1

Survival of the Seasons (2nd & 3rd grade) Become a master of migration. Learn the challenges animals face as they journey across the African savanna in a feat for survival! Students will put their engineering and problem-solving skills to the test as they encounter realistic scenarios.

Standards: SC.2.E.7.1, SC.2.L.17.1, SC.3.L.17.1 Zoo by Design (2nd & 3rd grade) Create your very own zoo! How would you organize it? Upon studying Naples Zoo’s map, students will be challenged to classify the amazing Zoo residents by geography and taxonomic class.

Standards: SC.2.L.16.1, SC.3.L.15.1 Swamp Detectives (4th & 5th grade) Be a sleuth of the wild and see if you can crack the code! Students will earn their detective badges with this “escape room” style program as they follow clues and investigate an invasive species discovered in the swamp.

Standards: SC.4.L.16.2, SC.4.L.17.4, SC.5.E.7.5, SC.5.L.15.1 Wildlife Trackers (4th & 5th grade) NEW! Conserve wildlife with the use of technology! An animal’s population is in peril, and it’s up to your class to find out why. Students will use scientific research tools as they learn how to track animals. They will practice using the scientific method to test a hypothesis and create solutions to save a species!

Standards: SC.4.E.6.5, SC.4.L.17.4, SC.5.N.1.1

ZooMobile Outreach Let the Zoo come to you! Through a variety of programs, experienced Zoo educators will present an engaging and interactive lesson for your students; complete with the opportunity to meet at least two education program animals.

Backbone Basics (Early Education 3 - 5 year-olds) What is a backbone and what does it do? Who has a backbone? Through playing, engineering, and meeting new animals, students will learn about animals that have backbones and how they are used in everyday life.

Standards: V.B.c.2, VI.B.1.b.,VI.E.1.b., VI.F.1.a.

SENSE-ational Senses (Kindergarten & 1st Grade) Slithering, swinging, and scurrying all over the world, animals experience the world in surprising ways. Students will see how well they can use their own senses, and discover how animals use their sensational senses.

Standards: SC.K.L.14.1, SC.1.L.14.1 Whose Habitat is That? (2nd & 3rd Grade) Discover animals unique to three specific habitats. Through interactive activities, students will explore how animals find food, water, and shelter in different ways.

Using their creative and problem-solving skills, students will design an animal habitat.

Standards: SC.2.L.17.1, SC.2.L.17.2, SC.3.L.15.1 Survival in the Savanna (4th & 5th Grade) Life can be challenging in the savanna. Students will build models of food webs and face challenges when drastic changes are made to them. Through this process, students learn how natural and human-caused impacts alter the animal way of life. Who will be able to survive?

Early Education programs have a maximum of 25 participants.

Program Duration: 45 minutes The ZooMobile can travel up to 60 miles from Naples Zoo. The program must occur in a setting without food or other animals.

Guided Tours Join us for a trek and learn about Naples Zoo’s rich history and beautiful gardens! An expert conservation educator will provide your group with an informative and engaging tour through the Zoo. Please note these are walking tours and all have exposure to the elements.

Tour of the Wild An immersive experience among the diverse animals and plants that call Naples Zoo their home. Learn about the zoo’s history, species, and conservation efforts we support locally and around the world.

Zoo Careers Tour Explore the variety of careers and experts needed to operate Naples Zoo. Enjoy beautiful views of the animals and gardens as you walk through the Zoo, and you may spot one of these careers in action.

Camp & Family Programs Camp WILD

The WILDest camp in town is at your Naples Zoo! Themed camps are offered year-round when school is out! Campers will have incredible adventures meeting new animals, visiting behind-the-scenes areas, playing games and activities, and doing creative art while having a blast with new friends.

Ages: 5 - 12 year olds. Prices vary.

Safari Squad

Bring your young explorer for a playful adventure at “Safari Squad!” Each class includes an animal encounter, storybook reading, creative art, and free-choice play stations, such as sensory play and nature-based activities. Each month features a new theme, and programs occur once a month on a Wednesday and Saturday!

Ages: 3 - 5 year olds. Prices vary.

Wild Encounters

Wild Encounters include an experience with a conservation educator, a meet-and-greet with a zookeeper, and an upclose interaction with one of our amazing animals! Interactions may include feeding, making enrichment, or observing training. Animals featured in our Encounters are: red-ruffed lemur, Florida panther, honey badger, giant anteater, and giraffe.

Zoo Yoga

Start your day with Zoo Yoga, an animal-themed yoga class designed for all ages. Led by Donation Yoga Naples’ Lauren Fox, you will breathe, stretch, and relax in nature.
