Day Events

Surround your next event in a full day of natural adventure. Naples Zoo offers your company or organization a diverse array of opportunities to enjoy this wild environment - from a company picnic in RainForest Grove to a sales presentation in the Safari Canyon theater. Your guests also experience the Zoo’s full range of entertaining and conservation-based wildlife activities! Embark on a catamaran for a guided tour of rare primates living on island habitats. Watch a thrilling hand-feeding of giant crocodilians along the banks of Alligator Bay. See fascinating creatures up close in the Safari Canyon open-air theater complemented by stunning nature footage on video screens. Bask in the sun with venomous reptiles while trained experts help you understand the role of these creatures in the ecosystem. Learn how our animal care staff safely provides for the mental and physical needs of carnivores like bears and lions. And discover animals from apes to zebras within the tropical garden.

Breakfast Meetings

Join the wildlife in celebrating the dawn of a new day. Listen to the melodic calls of the primates on the islands. Enjoy watching big cats romp through the grasses in the cool morning hours. Your group can enjoy exclusive use of the The Pavilion prior to opening hours. If you need to make a presentation or need to continue meeting after the Zoo opens, the Safari Canyon open-air theater is steps away and fully equipped for your audio and video needs.

Team Building

Organizations that maintain a successful cooperative culture understand team building is something they do every day. They also know the value of breaking away from that daily environment to reinvigorate and enhance teamwork. Naples Zoo offers a variety of themed programs to stimulate group problem solving and cooperation within an exotic atmosphere.

Private Picnics & Public Events

Host a private lunch or a public presentation encompassed by the giant Council Trees and Indian Laurel trees of RainForest Grove. This striking space has hosted everything from family picnics to the national unveiling of a new US postage stamp! While you and your guests dine and socialize, you will have up-close viewing of nearby animals. Additional wildlife opportunities are available as well.

RainForest Grove Enhancements Meet the Keeper: Wildlife Exhibit

In addition to being encompassed by massive tropical trees, RainForest Grove features proximity to several feature wildlife exhibits. Arrange a presentation in or near the Grove for your group to speak with one of the professional keepers who care for them daily. Ask those questions you’ve always wondered about during this informal twenty minute presentation.

What Do Animals Eat?

This educational presentation allows guests not only to learn what animals eat, but they also get up close and personal while various species enjoy a snack. This fun activity can be geared towards children or adults!

Animal Encounters

Welcome your guests into RainForest Grove with some wild friends. Your guests can meet some of the zoo’s animals up close in the zoo and speak with their handlers. Animals available for 15 to 20 minutes each.

Tropical Plant Tours For the botanically curious, guided tours can be arranged through the tropical garden. Group size is limited to approximately 20 persons.

Botanical Beauties With a growing garden of exquisite flora to select from, our staff can craft extraordinary custom centerpieces for your tables.

Presentations & Activities

Safari Canyon Open-Air Theater

Exclusive to Naples Zoo, these premiere presentations are an extraordinary collaboration of conservationists and nature photographers. Through the use of video screens, hosts narrate wildlife footage, live camera action, and computer graphics while living animals display natural behaviors in the naturalistic canyon theater during this 20 to 25 minute presentation. The multimedia elements represent the film and photography of the world’s leading conservation organizations. You can select either presentation or a blend of the two for your group in the 400 seat amphitheater.

Venom!

Discover the truth behind the fears about the world’s reptiles in this fast paced program. This show features snakes, lizards, and tortoises from near and far including native and exotic venomous species.

Planet Predator

Appreciate the important role predators play in nature while viewing live animals from exotic cats to more unusual hunters. Your hosts further illustrate with quick wildlife clips and close up views on the live cam while live animals exhibit natural behaviors.

Primate Expedition Cruise

Embark on a guided cruise to view monkeys, lemurs, and apes living on islands. The primates roam freely in the trees and along the shores for you to see in a natural environment. Three catamarans are available and accommodate approximately 30 guests each. Cruises last approximately fifteen minutes and must take place prior to sundown.

Feeding/Enrichment Cruise

For an extra special cruise, tour through the islands while the primates’ keeper delivers the afternoon feeding or a selection of behavioral enrichment activities. Up to three catamarans can be on the lake to view the excitement in this extended 25 to 30 minute cruise. Feeding cruises must take place very close to 5 p.m. Enrichment cruises can take place anytime in the evening before sundown.

Alligator Bay Feeding

Observe the size and strength of these giant reptiles as our trained animal care staff call the alligators onto the banks to be hand-fed. During this time, we’ll expose the myths about the more than one million alligators that make their homes in Florida. This palm-lined natural lake environment is also home to numerous native species including an annual rookery of herons.

Tribal Africa Entertainment Package

Welcome your guests with an African Tribal Dance as performers make precise movements to the beat of a drum. As you dine, they will circulate amongst your guests to enhance the experience. At the conclusion of the evening, your guests will enjoy a Best of Planet Predator and Serpents: Fangs and Fiction Show that will end with a farewell dance.

Meet the Keeper Series

See animals at their exhibits and speak with the professional keepers who care for them daily. Ask those questions you’ve always wondered about during these informal fifteen to twenty minute presentations.

Potential animals include unusual mammals, tropical birds and raptors, and exotic reptiles and snakes.

VIP Tours

Enhance the guest experience and appreciation of the site’s history with a personal tour guided by the Zoo’s director or another of the Tetzlaff family that founded the Zoo in 1969. Perfect on its own or a delightful way to entertain guests along the path on the way to your event.

Policies & Guidelines Weather Considerations/Cancellations As an outdoor venue, inclement weather can cause the cancellation of activities and/or the entire evening’s events. This is for the safety of all participants because of the high incidence of lightning/wind in South Florida. The zoo will not typically cancel for rain unless there is the greater threat from wind or lightning. As this is out of our control, Naples Zoo accepts no liability for weather cancellations and any specific costs incurred toward the event by Naples Zoo including third-party rentals delivered or services provided prior to cancellation notice require payment. Events or portions of events including cruises, shows, and animal encounters prevented by rain incur a 10% cancellation fee not to be less than the non-refundable deposit if the entire event is canceled. If events or portions of events are canceled with less than 48 hours notice for non-weather reasons, a 50% fee is incurred. Sunset and Events Some activities are only available prior to sunset without additional lighting fees. Wild Animals As live animals are unpredictable and their welfare takes precedence, we cannot guarantee specific species for your event and certain animals cannot be handled by staff in pith helmets or other costumes. This is a rarity and we appreciate your understanding as we care for rare animals. Guest Behavior All guests and event staff are subject to posted zoo guidelines and will be removed from the event for their safety or the safety of animals/gardens if these guidelines are broken. Intoxicated guests or those acting inappropriately may also be removed. Guests or event staff that throw objects or otherwise harass animals may be subject to prosecution. Smoke-Free Environment & Fines For the preservation of the historic garden and the safety of the zoo’s rare animals, Naples Zoo has been a smoke-free environment since 1969. Destination management companies/groups and clients are required to communicate this smoke-free policy to event staff as well as to guests. Outside event staff are required to enforce this policy with guests. If Zoo employees encounter more than three event staff or guests smoking, a fine of $500 will be imposed and added to the final invoice. Note: Payment of this fine does not permit smoking during the event. Non-compliance by the destination management company/group may restrict future events or incur additional fees on any future events. Smoking is permitted in the guest parking areas only. Insurance Certificates All outside vendors are required to provide additional insured certificates with Naples Zoo named as additional insured 2 weeks prior to event. (Min. $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate.) Electrical Power All catering, entertainment, outside lighting, etc. will need to be powered by a generator of adequate power arranged by your group through an outside vendor or booked through the Zoo. Property on Zoo Grounds Naples Zoo accepts no responsibility for equipment, items, or any group related property placed on Zoo grounds. This includes all rentals, silent auction donations, A/V equipment, and other similar items. All such items should be insured and liability is to be accepted by the group. Music and PA Volume For the safety of certain animals that can be stressed by loud noises, music and public address system levels are subject to the discretion of the Zoo’s on-site manager. Constant ambient music for dancing or background is acceptable. Above average or surprise noises are not permitted in recorded or live music. Non-compliant musicians or DJs will be escorted from the grounds. Outside Vendors and Equipment Removal We are delighted to work with the professional vendors of your choice. This includes event planners, rental companies, entertainment booking, catering, and tenting. The Zoo does, however, reserve the right to approve all vendors. All refuse from events is to be removed by the related vendor. Unless other arrangements have been made, all vendors are to have all equipment removed the night of the event or no later than noon the following day. Lateness may incur a financial penalty as it can affect other clients and their events as well as Zoo operations.

Guidelines for Caterers

• Must supply own power source, i.e. propane gas or electric generators as well as water. • Must remove all trash/waste from event. • For evening events, must supply own source of lighting. • If cooking with open flame, caterer must provide fire extinguishers. • A catering event plan (including procedures, menu, etc) must be provided to the Naples Zoo two weeks prior to event date for approval. • Catering employees are limited access to only the area where event is taking place. • If serving alcohol, caterer must provide copy of the State Liquor licenses two weeks prior to event to Naples Zoo. • Caterer to provide certificate with Naples Zoo named as additional insured with a minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence /$2,000,000 aggregate two weeks prior to the event date. • Naples Zoo is a non-smoking facility. No catering employees can smoke while on zoo grounds. • Access/Entrance to RainForest Grove can be obtained through Gate #3 off Goodlette-Frank Rd. • Access/Entrance to The Pavilion is through Gate #1 off Goodlette-Frank Rd, next to Main Gift Shop. • Setup times to be determined two weeks prior to each event.
