SENIOR TRACK SPOTLIGHT

Tell us about yourself? My name is Dan Brouillette and I grew up in Iowa. I attended Iowa State University where I began photographing high school seniors when I was 20 years old. In 2009 I moved to NYC to shoot more editorial and advertising and I lived there until 2013 when I then moved to Omaha and started LOOK Portrait. I love dogs, golf, football, and craft beers!

What is your favorite part about working with high school seniors? I love working with seniors because they are excited about being photographed and it gives me a creative outlet to collaborate with them to create editorial

style images that make them feel great about themselves. I love that each person is different and unique and that gives me the opportunity to create something new each day. Share a little sneak peek of what we will learn from you at the retreat? I the retreat I will be talking about the art of "unposing" which is the way I get my seniors to look so natural in front of the camera while still making flattering images. I will also be talking about lighting and giving image critiques which I believe are essential if you want to improve your images. Do you have any advice for people getting started in the Senior Market? My advice for those just starting in the senior market is to shoot for YOU and what makes you happy and feel creatively fulfilled. If you don't do that, you will get burnt out in a hurry trying to please everyone else. NAPCP

Tell us about yourself? I am one half of the photography husband wife fusion team, that is Ike and Tash Photography and Motion, based out of the beautiful city of Tacoma WA in the Pacific Northwest. I have been blessed to follow my dreams and do what I love, shooting portraits of gorgeous families, sassy high school seniors and weddings across the country and internationally, as well as teaching and helping other photographer’s grow and strengthen their businesses via one on one mentorships, group workshops and our annual boutique conference called “BLINK." I am passionate about community and helping young girls

and women realize their purpose which is why I started a moment entitled " Her Success is Not My Failure." (#hersuccessisnotmyfailure) In my spare time, I love planning events, speaking and teaching, playing guitar, traveling, writing, serving along my sister on her girl’s empowerment initiative; GLAM (Girls Leadership and Mentoring) Camp, and hanging with my family. My daughter Wisdom is the best thing to ever happen to me, and it because of her that I value being a memory maker even more. I am living my destiny and I am so thankful! What is your favorite part about working with high school seniors? They are so incredibly fun, energetic, excited and have the world at their fingertips. You also have an opportunity to really speak into their lives and be an added support to their community as they approach their senior year. You become a little piece of their village.

Tell us about yourself? I'm a senior photographer located in the beautiful Napa Valley, CA. I am married and have 2 teenage children. I love cozy fall weather and might be the only girl on the planet that doesn't like Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I'm a rare breed that classifies as a "social introvert" - I love being around people but I also enjoy alone time. I love living in California where I am 1-2 hours away from the beach or the mountains. I'm slightly addicted to Pinterest and wish that every time I pinned an outfit, that it would magically appear in my closet! What is your favorite part about working with high school seniors? Last night I had a session with a senior girl. She is a very simple girl that doesn't put too much time into her

appearance. She arrived to the studio, glammed up with her hair and makeup done, a little unsure about it since that is not what she is used to. I assured her that she looked so beautiful and we headed out to begin her session. Within the first few frames, I showed her a glimpse of the back of my camera, and she was speechless. I could tell that she was seeing herself in a way that she had never seen herself before. Her mom started to tear up as she watched her daughter grab hold of this new confidence. This is what its all about for me - building girls up so that they see the true beauty that lies within them! It's always there and it's such a privilege to show it to them. Share a little sneak peek of what we will learn from you at the retreat? Over and over again in my workshops I hear how frustrated photographers get with the subject of pricing and sales. I see way too many photographers giving their time and talent away and not making money. I will be teaching you how to strategically price your services so that your client will naturally select your top collections without you having to come off like a used car salesman! NAPCP

SENIOR TRACK SPOTLIGHT

Tell us about yourself? I'm Amanda Holloway, a senior photographer for The Woodlands and Greater Houston. I've been a photographer for 6 years and educating for 4 and a half years. I began traveling down the photography rabbit hole when I had my son and wanted to learn how to take better pictures of him. Now, 6 years later, I've transferred out of the Law Enforcement field and into the photography industry.

What is your favorite part about working with high school seniors? My favorite part about working with seniors is helping them realize their inner beauty while capturing memories of an amazing time in their lives.

Teen girls on the brink of adulthood have such a struggle with self esteem and the lack of confidence to transition into the next chapter of their lives can leave them feeling less than their peers, and that can cause havoc during that time. If I can help them be secure in their own beautifully unique qualities, then I've done my job. Share a little sneak peek of what we will learn from you at the retreat? I'm going to teach an in depth course on advanced client workflow by detailing how to maximize the efficiency of your time spent on your business while allowing for more time spent with your family. I began this career by over booking myself to the point that I almost lost my family over it. I was working full time, shooting on the weekends, editing until 3 am, and "fitting" people into my already packed schedule. Through a ton of trial and error I have learned how to schedule my clients in a way that has perfected continual advanced booking as well as minimizing time wasted on factors that can be automized yet customized to each and every one of my clients.
