Instructor: Heidi Siwak --- ISTE NETS: 1, 2 Research into the potential of gaming on learning is exploding. Schools built entirely around gaming principles now exist. What exactly is game-based learning? How can it be used in classrooms? How does gaming promote 21st century fluencies, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and collaboration? This workshop will introduce non-gaming educators to the principle’s of gaming. Educators will have the opportunity to learn gaming and game construction using Minecraft and Scratch as well as create a social media platform where learners can discuss and share what they learn through gaming. Integrating Effective Communication and Collaboration Practices within a Mobile Learning Environment Instructor: Beth Lisowski --- ISTE NETS: 1, 2, 3 This three day hands-on workshop will focus on using free and user-friendly digital multimedia tools to create an engaging and collaborative learning environment that uses technology to support all learners and their unique learning styles. Internet safety and student management will be addressed throughout three days- as we explore a wide variety of digital tools and

their practical uses while focusing on the 4 C’s of creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. Creation and digital media tools explored will include video and web conferencing, back channel chats, social networks of Facebook, wikis and blogs to integrate with your existing curriculum and utilized in a BYOD teaching and learning environment.

Administrative Technology Leadership: Building a Collaborative Culture to Learn and Lead in the Digital Age Instructor: Curt Rees --- Admin ISTE NETS: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 In this course, administrative and technology leaders will explore new trends related to both emerging technologies and 21st century skills as they relate to teaching, learning and leadership. In particular, it will focus on these trends from the administrator’s point of view. At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
