CASA Volunteer Service – CASA volunteers (court appointed special advocates) are ordinary people who have the opportunity to influence a foster child’s life across many significant and far-reaching life concerns such as medical care, academics, and enrichment activities. Individuals with a desire to help children and a willingness to commit themselves to a foster child in need of the unique one-on-one attention of a CASA volunteer. Some of the vendors in attendance are Stony Hill Farms, Cotton Cattle, Hoboken Farms, Roger’s Seafood, Picklicious, Choc-O-Pain and Paolo’s Kitchen. To add to the fun, there will be live music on some days. Van Vorst Park Farmer’s MarketVan Vorst Farmers Market, Van Vorst Park, Montgomery and Jersey Avenue, Jersey City, opened in May and will be open until December on Saturdays, 8am to 2pm. This seasonal open-air market offers a wide variety of goods, including fresh organic and conventional fruits and vegetables, baked goods, seafood, fresh mozzarella, pickles, and flowers.
