01. MANIFESTO
In an era marked by the pandemic, humanity and work have changed, perhaps forever. Also cities have, and the monofunctional office architecture that characterized the 20th Century is now obsolete. This is why we proposed an intervention on an architectural monument such as the Seagram Building in order to change the modern paradigm and giving life again to the world’s Financial Downtowns.
“
“ What’s an office for? what the office was supposed to be for, is possible to do from somewhere else.-
The New Yorker, feb 21
As life changes, our building also should, aiming for a new conception of urban living, using what’s already there, applying concepts of multiple functions for the existing habitat so we can truly speak of sustainable urban development, pushing away every cliche or slogan.

02. LIVING MONUMENTS
What we experienced with COVID-19 was an historical event that shook our habits from the ground and the way we interact with architecture. Following Alois Riegl´s conception about monuments the Seagram building, as home office spreaded, was then considered a dead monument that lost its main purpose. The principles of reconversion and restoration were took as the project´s cornerstone.

Nothing is invented, for it’s written in nature first.
Antoni Gaudí
The project contemplates respecting all the existing trees and adopt them as structural spatial elements. The program is projected to be built in two different stages, but composing a uniform entity regardless which stage is executed first. A steel pergola acts as unifier and environmental feature regulating the roofs exposition to sunlight depending on the time of the year.

Salta´s mountains are source of inspiration for my soul.
Mercedes Sosa.
With the mountains and vines as magnificent background, the proposal takes this condition as an input and seeks to blend itself with it´s surroundings . Following this main principle, the building adapts its expression in order to copy the vines’ longitudinal pattern. In addition to this, the total transparency of the building on the longitudinal axis creates a clear and sincere connection between the interior and the mountains in the background.

01.INDUSTRIAL LANDSCAPE
Located on a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site, the temporary installation aims to create a platform that allows people to come together and contemplate the surrounding buildings , those that constitute Fray Bentos´industrial landscape. The platform is combined with the Icon. A simple structure that takes several roles: become a landmark on site and making an analogy with industrial site´s iconic chimney.

MASTER DEGREE THESIS - GARCIA PASTOR NAHUEL URBAN REGENERATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT IN EAST NAPLES
01. PROJECT STATEMENT
The topic of the redevelopment of industrial areas is applied in the case study of Naples and in particular in the eastern area of the city. A clear territorial division between the central sector of the city and the eastern suburbs is determined by infrastructures, deficiency in the public transport network andthe incompatibility of use between the petro-chemical sector industries and housing in the sector. The thesis tackles this problematic and propose a masterplan for the regeneration of the urban space and environment in addition to an urban park, the thesis focus.

02. MAIN COMPONENTS.
Since the park is conceived as a piece of environmental infrastructure, it had to be structured and equipped with specific elements in order to make this intention a reality. Solar panels were installed in addition to a precise and studied vegetation proposal following the canals and rainwater re-use infrastructures. All these elements converge to give shape to the park, offering different tematic routes.

The Vesuvius is the heart, the soul, the summary of all the Gulf´s splendors. Is the gigantic ruby that claps the pearl necklace composed by the sky...
Renato Fucini
In accordance to the park´s educative role, it’s vegetation and spatial system is structured by an axis connecting visually to the Vesuvius. On which from it, the 3 native biomes are “plugged” enhancing the relationship between the volcano and the spaces at the park.
