Citizens repair science college road Kohima: Phezhu community and Taxi Union of Jotsoma Village organized a mass social work on August 15 to repair the T.N Angami Road (Science College Road) in between Kohima town and Jotsoma village, which had been in a dilapidated condition. Hundreds of people from the colony voluntarily took part in filling the potholes and clearing drainages all along the road. The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to all the part takers and the individuals who have freely offered services of their vehicles and machineries for the day.

DIMAPUR: The Naga Voluntary Women Association (NVWA) on the occasion of 70th Independence Day celebration held a special program to felicitate the senior most widows from all Naga tribes at State Banquet Hall today. President, NVWA, Kevi Rangkau while delivering her welcome address said that the NWVA has in the past actively participated in different charity work and this year also after thorough deliberation by all the members decided to do something different for the Naga women and especially for the Naga widows. She further said the small token given to the widows by the association was a good will gesture to commemorate and celebrate the 70th Independence Day.
She urged all to continue to remember the Association in their prayers so that they can continue to do good work for the Naga society. G e n e r a l s e c r e t a r y, NWVA, Kakheli Jakhalu briefly highlighted the NWVA aims and objective and said NWVA was a non-profit, voluntary and non-government based organization with past and present members comprising of the spouses of the Council of ministers, bureaucrats, technocrats, police officers, lady doctors etc. She also said that the prime objective of NWVA was to unite the wives of the legislatures and officers on a common platform to do something visible and worthwhile for the people that would encourage and inspire other

DIMAPUR: 33 Assam Rifles (AR) conducted debate competition for the children of Longsa Hill Public School, L/ Shengha Village on August 1. According to AR sources, the basic aim of the event was to identify the talent of the children and to provide a platform to boost their self-confidence.
