Concert hall | Academic project | 2020 Location Cluj-Napoca, Romania Team members Ioana Rujoi-Radu
01 Architecture: A Frame for Music
The concert hall is all about architecture creating the perfect space for music. The concept of the project is using the main hall as the central space of the building that is going to generate a clear separation between the public and the private spaces in the interior. It also plays the role of the accent for the exterior facades. The study for this building started from the macro scale of the neighbourhood going to the micro one, in terms of the interior spaces. Being situated between a big mass of concrete blocks from the comunist period, we wanted the image of the building to be integrate as much as possible in the context. Here comes the choice of materials for the facade, concrete and wood, wood bringing a warm touch to the neighbourhood, but also highlights the main music spaces, the concert hall and the repetition space.

Performinf Arts Center | Graduation project | 2022 Industrial Revival Location Sibiu, Romania
02 eclaiming Forgotten Industrial Heritage Flaro Factory
The rich industrial heritage of the city of Sibiu is currently going through a process of continuous degradation. Converting and revitalizing an industrial space aims to keep fresh the memory of the town’s recent history. To do this, the viewer has to take a step back and analyze the space. The project aims to become an attraction point for the neighbourhood. The clean lines of the modernist architecture together with the shed’s volume play, are becoming the bridge between old and new architecture. The rhythm of the facade of the halls makes a clear sending to the former factory’s past, a textile factory, in use until the `70s. The height game created between the main spaces, a vertical accent in the new volume, in close relationship to the sheds, the secondary areas having a lower height in order to subordinate to the sheds. The exposed brick used on the facade of the new part is a clear reminder of the industrial memory of the area. The design of the public square and the routes around it are prioritizing the pedestrian and biking transport, the car playing a secundary role in it.

Learning the history of the site Studying the history of the site was important in understanding the urban layers and for defining some direction lines

Studying the history of the site was the starting point of the project. Deciding what was valuable, like the modernist facade of the factory and the sheds, and was was not.

03 Internship: MiAS Architects Barcelona
Barcelona, Gaudi’s city , the city I had the pleasure of calling it home for almost 5 months in 2021. I got the chance to do my internship at MiAS Architects, an architecture office where I improved my model-making skills and I had the opportunity to be part of the team who arranged “MiAS-The making of making (architecture)” exhibition at the Design Museum of Barcelona.

Juxtaposition- Human vs Nature A collage I created recently as a custom order illustrating the juxtaposition theme, a two side collage whith a contrast theme between the them. Each side is created out of 10 different images blended together, in order to create a cohesive picture with good overall lighting and colour schemes.
48
Human vs Nature Nature, a place where the wild animals live free, a place full of flowers and plants, everything flows naturally, deer and foxes are running freely on the fields. At the other end, there are the people and their way of living, where concrete and machines rule over everything. The concrete housing and cars are the main actors of our lives, while the factories are polluting our environment in the background. Consumerism plays an important role in people lives also, shops and fast foods are at every corner nowadays.

Renders Past years came with the opportunity of illustrating different architectural projects through images, some were made during my academical journey and some came from my freelancing career. They were created either with rendering programs like Lumion or Twinmottion and edited in Adobe Photoshop, either directly in Adobe Photoshop.
